Visit to !Xun and Khwe communities at Platfontein
 
The organization Oasis South Africa is an international organization and situated at Cosmo City. The organization creates jobs for the community in Cosmo City. Any young person fresh from school who like to work in the community can get training at Oasis South Africa. Every second year the youth who have had training, go back to their communities to work there. Oasis South Africa has sent the youth from Cosmo City on a visit to the various provinces in the country, started at Platfontein.
 
The mentor of the group of youths visiting Platfontein, SW Schoombie, says the group came to Platfontein to get exposure of the San people and to see what their culture and tradition entail.
 
The youth group will spend most of their time with families at Platfontein where they will be shown the San culture and traditions, and where they can learn from the San, says Schoombie.
 
Dimisile Shabalala, the leader of the group, says they are delighted to see the San first hand. They have read about the San in books and have heard some stories. She says the visit to Platfontein is an enjoyful one and they find the people to be friendly. Dumisile Shabalala was the leader of the youth group who visited Platfontein as part of their tour of the provinces.
