KPN Winter Workshop: Day One

On a crisp, cool day on the West Cape Coast six keen people began their training as potential editors for the KPN website. Those attending were:

Tommy Busakhwe and Mario Mahongo Junior from SASI, and Magdalena Lucas, Hendreas Vaalbooi, Andre Vaalbooi and Nunke Kadhimo from !Khwa ttu.

The programme varied. One minute the trainees were setting up emails and the next moment they were registering on KPN site and adding comments to articles. They experimented with digital photography, selected photographs for this article and absorbed a large amount of technical information.

By four o’ clock they were completely exhausted and ready for a good night’s sleep before the second day of the workshop.

Thanks to: Management at !Khwa ttu who not only accommodated the training team, but who kept some of their trainees on for two weeks so that they could take part. SASI in Kimberley sent their two representatives by bus and covered accommodation and food. Most of all, thank you to Hugh Clarke and Mary Cadogan who gave their valuable time to facilitate the workshop.Jay heale joined us on the second day to give a spirited mini-workshop on writing with passion and feeling.
